WELCOME

Welcome to the 10th edition of the International Workshop on Advanced Ground Penetrating Radar - IWAGPR 2019, which will be held in Rome, Italy, on 3-5 July 2019.

This three-day conference is aimed at exploring advancements in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology, methodology and applications. The scientific programme of the event will include several high-quality sessions covering all areas of GPR research, development and usage. Roundtables and other networking initiatives will help to create a collaborative atmosphere and will facilitate the exchange and discussion of ideas. Vital exposure of early-career scientists to the research community will be actively promoted. A wide exhibition held in a fascinating ancient cloister will offer its exhibitors an unrivalled opportunity to present products, technological developments and form or strenghten relationships with relevant and interested academics, professionals, and delegates from industry, whilst offering to all conference participants a pleasant forum for debating trends and sharing scientific-technical information.

CITY & VENUE

We look forward to welcoming you in Roma, the most beautiful city in the world!

The conference is held in the Angelicum, Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas,

Largo Angelicum 1, 00184 Roma, Italy

The splendid Angelicum complex dates to 1569 and is situated in the historical centre of the Eternal City. The entrance faces Via Nazionale, a few meters from Piazza Venezia and Trajan’s column, beneath the shadows of the medieval Torre delle Milizie. From its windows and from the interior gardens you have an enchanting view of the Imperial Fora, the Colosseum, Villa Aldobrandini, the Quirinal Palace and the Victor Emmanuel Monument. The Angelicum has received Popes, Presidents and heads of State, and has hosted scientific, cultural, political and economic events of global importance.

Roma is the capital of Italy and an amazing place to visit, with an artistic, architectural and cultural history that has influenced the whole world. While Roman mythology dates the founding of Rome at around 753 BC, the area has been inhabited for approximately 14000 years, making it one of the oldest continuously occupied sites in Europe. The historic centre of Rome is of course listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Colosseum and Vatican Museums are among the world's most visited tourist destinations, with both locations receiving millions of tourists a year. Rome has everything, from ancient ruins to historical and religious sites, wonderful fountains, statues, large and tiny squares, museums and galleries of every kind, an unforgettable atmosphere and some of the best cuisine in the world!
